Seniors tend to be more trusting and less proficient in terms of online risks, making them an easy target. Identity theft involves obtaining someone’s personal information and using it to gain access to their funds, assets or credit. This type of theft can occur online, by illegally obtaining documents containing personal information through a method such as mail theft, or even during a phone conversation where this type of personal information is requested.
